One of the many works of art created by fifth- and eighth-graders at Bueker Middle School that were displayed Sunday, Feb. 24, while the Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra performed "The Great Locomotive Chase" by Robert W. Smith. Students of BMS Art Teacher Judy Denton were inspired by Smith's work and their drawings conveyed visually the story Smith's music told, the story of James Andrews, a Union spy during the Civil War and 19 Union soldiers who commandeered the steam locomotive "The General" in an attempt to disrupt rail service between Atlanta and Chattanooga.
